Mail Command Center

I will admit that organizing is my guilty pleasure. It does for me what maybe a run or wine does for others. I have a peninsula in my kitchen that I use for my mail, kids school papers etc. I even use it for a majority of my crafting. I came across this great mail/paper center on where else- PINTEREST!

Now if your an avid Pinner you know sometimes the links don't link back or the blog post was from ages ago and items can no longer be bought. But WAIT! This item can be bought...I found that out on a trip to Target the very next day. I was literally SO excited I rushed home to get organized. I have had this station in my kitchen since Jan 2013 and its working! I love it so much...husband however is having a hard time keeping up with his folder. It gets a wee bit FULL and asking him to clean it up is like torture apparently.

Now rush out you organizing fiends and grab one!

Mothers Day craft

Now I will admit this was last years moms day gift to the great grandmothers. They are for sure "godly" so it was just the right fit for them.
Now I'm warning you this creation is not a quick one...

Step 1: find your quote- I did a random Mother quote search online.

Step 2: gather your supplies- I used 8x10 canvas, acrylic paint, alphabet stencil, and brushes etc.

Step 3: figure out your background- I picked 1 color and diluted it with white a smidge for one color, a lil more white for the next color and so on. You could do one solid color if you like.

Step 4: begin stenciling on your quote- this is the LONG process I warned you about. You can only do one letter at a time because if you place the stencil on top of the wet letter...well you know...this process took 2 days to complete.

In the end you get fabulous results! perfect for any space in mom or grandmas house!

Welcome!

Like I didn't already have enough on my plate I decided, eh what the heck let me make ANOTHER blog. Another you say? Where is her other one? Well I have been blogging since 2006 on a blog about my children. Mainly as a way for family and friends to get the kid scoop and updated pictures. I in no way shape or form claim to be a professional or expert in anything (however I may refer to myself as one in future posts but I hold no degrees in whatever area I'm claiming) I am not a grammar freak and I may use slang.

In this blog I hope to provide readers with help, laughs, ideas, insight, advice and maybe some knowledge. It WILL contain crafts, photography tips/tricks, pet related topics, gardening, home care, real estate topics, cooking, gardening, husband topics, kid topics, travel topics, party planning and well the list could go on. If you LIKE any of those things I suggest you start following NOW.

Here's a bit O background on myself.

I was raised up military and then from 10+ by a single mom. I know how to be cheap and save money. I LOVE crafting, list making, art, pets...ok I just better stop now or it will go forever. I met my husband when i was 16 and he was 20 and in the USMC stationed in Cherry Point, NC. I became a teen mom in 2002 at 18, 9mo after I graduated high school. I got married to my "baby daddy" 1 month before she was born. We have a son as well who was born in 2006. I am still married to the same guy. I have pretty much been a stay at home mom since I was 18. In 2008 I took on freelance portrait photography. It wasn't anything to pay the bills but I LOVE it so much! We live in Texas near a beach(that's all I will say). Now that my kids are older and both school age I wanted to go get a job. I decided in October of 2012 that being a real estate agent was a good fit for the family life I wanted. So that's what I did! I am now a Licensed real estate agent in TX.

I entitled this blog "She who wears many hats" because most moms can relate. A mom is a housekeeper, child care provider, dog groomer, doctor, laundry mat, courier, chef, financial advisor, teacher, friend, aunt, daughter....and if you work outside the home you are that PLUS so many more.

(This is me)
